Honestly, more power to them. I'm generally for not compelling people to do things that go against their moral compasses, and in a choice of telling their bosses "I'm not delivering this" and stealing them all and setting them on fire on a riverbank, they chose the far more civil option.

Why weren't they fired?

If you want to specialize in delivery of certain publications or packages and refuse to process others, go to private sector.
