Ask HN: budding web developer issues

I am a 16 year old kid in 11th grade in israel.

this year i started getting really interested in web development, got 2 websites off the ground and a third (and the first one with hopes of profit) within the month.<p>the issue i am having is that i started off learning PHP and MySql, and im doing great with those. but ive learned that to really make your websites not looke like its from the 90's, you need some nice javascript in there.<p>thats the issue. im having issues learning anything new. not that im slow or anything, usually im a great and fast learner but, for some reason i just cant get out of my boundaries of php and mysql.<p>ive tried starting to use JQuery but at the end of the day. i was almost always just googling for other people scripts.....<p>any advice?<p>thanks you
