I don't get why they removed the first batch of reviews. Hostility towards the userbase, especially with real world (monetary) consequences, is definitely a valid reason to give a low rating.

I wonder if it was manual removal or a spam protection bot..

I don't think it was a spam protection bot since they removed a large batch all at once. But, they obviously know there is no point to remove another batch because it will backfire.

How in the world do they say the new reviews are compliant and the previous reviews still weren't? Why even bother trying to float that?
