Ask HN: Old British watch manufacturer now owned by Chinese company

Asking fellow horologist here.

A few days ago, I read about a British watch manufacturer (defuncted in 1920/1930s?) that is now owned by Chinese company, producing fashion brand watches.

Unfortunately, I cleared my browser history yesterday, so couldn't find it.
