I still have some old music equipment (keyboards with sequencers, drum machines) that use floppies. I suspect this is one significant area of use, and industrial machines are another.
I want to know more! Do they run linux or do you read the data on other hardware?
These machines don't run Linux, but it's handy to be able to make and read their floppies.
That relates to the retro compute scene. Hardware like yours used in a commercial setting, or do you just have some old hardware only used by hobbyist?

I know floppies are still used out there in the wild world, but I'd love to hear more about it. I just know about it from the classic/retro comupting niche

I don't think the floppy driver will be removed any time soon, at least to keep parity with Windows and Mac.
