I've tried linux as my primary desktop for 21 years now. It never took. The pain was never worth the benefit
But, after using PaperWM for a month, I'm now 100% linux. Not for everyone, but a game changer for me. Tiling WM but for the real world. No more spending hours trying to get my tiling wm to work right. This works out of the box great.
I love having a tiling window managager but also Gnome for all the nice little things. GUI to setup WiFI, VPN, displays etc etc
