Right Way to Submit Work Report ( Google Sheet vs. Internal Software)

I work at a small Service-based software tech company as an engineer, my daily work includes writing code, Review code, and push the code. I work daily between 2, 3 projects. We have in-house project management software that handles most of the tasks including project management, To-Do List, Kanban board, daily reporting, etc. We used to daily report on this software. (The fun part we don't have the access to the already submitted daily report in our personal dashboard)As per our company's new rule, we need to submit a weekly report on a google sheet( So the daily report needs to be separately tracked down in somewhere sheet or memorized something). My concern is that we are already submitting a report on internal software, why we need to separately submit the report weekly. isn't that obvious? Why we need to waste that precious time on a google sheet. When data already there in the internal software?
