Whilst the current title ("Uber Italy charged under anti-mafia laws") is less click-baity than the Wired title, it isn't correct.

This is about a middleman who exploited migrants by positioning themselves between people who are desperate, and Uber.

There are also allegations against a senior Uber manager:

Couldn't this only have been done by someone who works for Uber?

Uber Italy still hasn't been charged under anti-mafia laws. Which is the point I was attempting to make.

The accounts being used by FRC employees were set up by FRC, who could probably arbitrarily change passwords, log out of devices, and all that. The migrants weren't the ones creating their own accounts.

Very justified in this case.

And I don't normally support some of the more political cases against Uber et al

Wish they would apply this rule in England - caporalato is running via driver agencies such as "Driver Hire UK' (driverhire.co.uk) who contract workers under zero-hours rules and take a slice from the workers, with little obligation. the workers are somehow classed as employees under UK HMRC and are provided with an annual P60 document (employee document), yet have zero identity of being an employee - no sick pay, no vacation leave, no annual leave, no fixed hours, no contract, no set hourly or per job pay, no pension, no state pension, nothing which would normally make a holder of the P60 document exempt and protected from.
