Background: In US (midwest), 7 years of security engineering/security consulting (penetration testing) experience, looking to move into a more senior role (read: increase salary & professional skillset).
I'm currently on a job hunt and I typically dread these conversations around salary and total compensation, but I understand that I need to step a bit out of my comfort zone. I've read over and over that these negotiations can be tense and I liked the way Zaheer here (Levels.fyi co-founder) handles this.

What does HN think? Is this solid advice?
