Now we know why all the game devs put out half baked products and blamed nonsensically it on Covid-19
Spending millions is how managers make themselves look important and valuable.
Whilst it’s vaguely interesting to hear the blow by blow of the process via which Google screwed up Stadia, I would be much more interested to hear the thought process behind the executives who chose the strategy in the first place. This is one of those cases where I don’t wonder why it failed. I wonder who on earth thought this would succeed? Especially since there are so many examples in the industry to learn from - notable Microsoft and Valve.
