I was talking with a bunch of friends on Clubhouse last night about Fry's – we made a "Fry's Electronics Grief Support Group", and after giving a lot of space to collective mourning, we started talking about how weird it is that the fun and excitement of shopping for electronics isn't present in e-commerce. Even with TikTok and Discord, it's just not the same. And our grief turned into a desire to build something new and beautiful.

We decided to start a Discord server where we'd begin a community shopping experience just like Fry's. There's already a bunch of cool Discord servers for buying electronics, like buildapc and StockDrops. Why not add one where we recreate all the zany things we love about Fry's – even a channel for the gumball machines!

So far the server is kind of like a Fry's cosplay, but in no time we will actually bootstrap some stock drop bots into all the channels ;)

This can be actually somewhat cool.

Like bringing the Fry's experience to the Digital realm.

Can bring multiple most wanted items that people can shop or like a great shopping experience or even just a good browsing experience.

It can become an experience that brings back all our old memories w Fry's. <3

They probably failed because they sucked in the digital realm. So it is a bit ironic.
Absolutely. King of doorbusters, worst at everything else. I never bothered with the Cafe but I've heard good things. One of my main annoyances with Frys was wanting to buy one-off things and go pick it up or have it delivered. A simple search that would have turned up exactly what I wanted would get me the most random product listing imaginable. I'm a bit sad to see them go since I recently moved close to one but I don't think I'll miss them. I can thank Microcenter for that.
