Ask HN: Monitors vs. 1 Big Monitor 1 points by sloaken 5y ago ↗ HN Over 10 years ago, I recall research that had shown most people were more productive with 2 monitors verse 1 big one. Is that still true? Has anyone seen any recent research on the topic?TIA
[–] llarsson 5y ago ↗ Probably depends a lot on which window manager you use. Even Windows does virtual desktops these days.Sounds like personal preference more than anything else.I don't want to turn my neck all the time, so one big monitor is better for me.
[–] aespinoza 5y ago ↗ I haven't seen any research that has pointed to me to one or the other. I can however give you my own experience.I have mixed feelings about this. I moved from multiple monitors to one big monitor. I do not see a considerable difference between one or the other.Obviously this is all subjective so I cannot give you any numbers to back this up. I am however not going back to multiple monitors.
