First you complain that Google takes away your privacy, and then when Google listens to your complaint and re-architects it's entire trillion dollar business to give you privacy, you still complain.
The critique is that the changes aren't in practice pro privacy and are ways of deflecting constant criticisms while boosting their bottom line. Why are you so mad about activists? Have you tried forming a coherent argument so that we can talk about it?
People complained about privacy. Google addressed their complaint, changed their business practices, and took a small hit to revenue in the process. They estimate they'd lose 5%, or about $8B when this scheme is implemented.
The same people now complain that while Google addressed their complaint, and created privacy, they are still bad somehow just because *shaking hands furiously* can't you see that they are Google?
