Ask HN: What Stories Would Make for a Good TV Adaptation?

I saw this article[0] on Ars Technica, suggesting that certain novels be adapted for television. I don't necessarily disagree with any of the suggestions, but I had a few others and imagine that other folks on HN would have more.

I'll start with a few I think would be wonderful as TV adaptations and look forward to hearing other suggestions:

1. The Foreigner series by C.J. Cherryh

2. The Dark Tower Series by Stephen King

3. The Gateway Series by Fred Pohl

What novels/stories/series would you like to see turned into TV treatments?
