I nominate this essay, as Paul Graham's least controversial. Perhaps, someone who works with or in the non-profit sector could provide a counterpoint.
Interesting how Paul's essay make it instantly to the first page, even with only 4 upvotes in 42 minutes and even though the same thing was on the front page one or two days ago.

Same as with the YC hiring posts. This is YC's prerogative, though.
With hiring posts and launch posts they are open and upfront about it at least.

Sure, but this post had 4 upvotes in 42min when I commented. That shouldn't be enough to get to the first page.
This is a joke right? Everyone knows most non-profits are just a way to dodge taxes by funneling it from James Richperson Foundation to James Richperson's shell companies. Damn right large donations should be restricted and used very specifically for what they were meant for.
