How to deal with proprietorial Lead/Engineering Head

After a decade of working in Indian IT services, I joined a European series C funded start up last year as freelance.

This year I moved to Europe and joined as FTE and ny team lead got promoted to head of engineer.

I am an average DEV and always open to suggestions and emprovement for my work.

But since my lead got promoted to engineering head. Whenever I make some improvement to code, or try to fix bugs he gets upset.

In review calls, he would just dictate his approach how things should be done and not even see my code.

Sometimes, I feel he favours my female teammate as they had been working together for long time

I am a person with very emotional quotient and suffering from chronic depression since last 4 years.

Due to this hostile behavior, I am again getting panic attacks and severe anxiety.

How can I handle this situation ?

There is no other team that needs my skills and except for Data/MLOps which reports to my lead.

I am still on probation period. My residency permit application is still in waiting list. (Thanks Rona,) I had sold everything back in India at great financial loss for this opportunity. My lead was also working in IT services before joining here. I get annual salary of 60K Euro (Pre tax)
