A good portion of these don't seem to work, for example the "iOS Homescreen" or "Fakebooker" ones.

Depending on your value of work, most of them appear to not "work".

I think this is mostly about partly UI clones.

thanks for the info on dead links, will try to find and replace these with working demo url. sometimes the project author takes down the live demo url like in the case of fakebooker.

It’s an apples-oranges question, these are just examples of OSS code not actual products.

Bah! I wish Slack had cloned IRC! Slack is more the crappy knock off from the bargain bin at microcenter.

Looks like an interesting list. I'm not a fan of the scrolling frame though.

Also, I see a number of pseudo-clones missing. For example PeerTube as a replacement for YouTube. However, that could be argued to not be a clone, as PeerTube is distributed.

What would be even more useful would be a full Feature Matrix - ideally including the feature list of the comparable(s).

And perhaps even more useful may be a quick way to see how the data is organized.

It might be helpful to have a clear definition of "clone" on the site. This seems to be mixing a variety of different projects from straight clones of existing services into a new language to new front ends to existing services to completely new and independent apps that fall more into an "inspired by" category.

I think that has more to do with the learning curve than with RxJS itself. Once you learn how to use it, it becomes an incredibly powerful tool.

Apples & oranges. Angular (web app platform) can't really be compared with jQuery (JS lib) I think. Angular had a rough, chaotic history which hurt its popularity, but if you check out the latest version I think you'd find a very mature, batteries-included framework. Especially for enterprise settings with lots of developers I find it the superior choice. It's just not the coolest kid on the block for all the indie developers.

It seems none of the commenters opened any of the "clones" in the list.

These are only UI clones, at least from the 5 I clicked to try to understand what I was seeing.

They are not clones, alternatives or replacemente, only exercises in UI design and Front-end development.

It is not a bad list but I hate it because the title (and description) teels a differente story. They say they're clones but they are not.

I've yet to find anyone clone the netflix carousel properly. A someone trying to do it myself in React it has proven tedious.
