Ask HN: Looking for OCR for exam papers/tests

Is there a way to prepare tests with closed questions (and possibly with open questions) in such a way, that they can be easily digitalized after the exam?

The closed questions could be automatically checked by the system, or at least parsed and displayed in a text format. The answers to open questions could be parsed to text or just cropped (as images).

Looking for both open-source solutions and SaaS/PaaS.
