Hi HN community! After discovering the Bear Blog, https://bearblog.dev/ (which is completely different from the Bear app, https://bear.app/, by the way), I wanted to rewrite it in Go and provide an easy way to deploy on serverless Google Cloud Run. Cloud Run allows you to use your own custom domains and the service will also provide an SSL cert. Here's a link to the GitHub repo as well: https://github.com/josephspurrier/polarbearblog
I dove into Bear Blog recently and enjoy it. I find there is freedom in fewer options. Writing and posting is simple. But there are some nice customizations.
This is very clean and looks neat. Also cool that it's for Google Cloud Run.
Years ago I embarked on a sort of side project to create a blogging platform which runs on Google App Engine. It helped me learn a lot about Google App Engine & Python. When I decided to launch my latest project, I cleaned it up and deployed it for the project's blog - https://nocommandline.com/blog/
