> But further accumulation of stupid wealth does have a damaging effect. Instead of the money sloshing around the system as it is supposed to, it will fester, trapped, in some offshore banking labyrinth somewhere, like a fatberg in a sewer. This has a negative impact on everybody else.

The author has confused money with the goods and services it is used to purchase.

Not sure if this is a serious proposal. But why stop at £100M? Let's also jail people with more than £200M.
I think that people with > £200m are included in the set of people with >£100m.
If we jail people with money at all, that could work too. Any money should be instantly traded for a good or service, putting someone to work etc. Suppose I get a paycheck for 1000, that money should go straight to the things i need or to someone else that needs it. That would be the perfect economy. Anyone with money should be JAILED. Spend it or lose it!
Reminds me of THX 1138. Pretty good dystopian future movie where people are essentially required to spend their paychecks on the way home after work.

Also reminds me of the harm done to society by allowing idiots to publish articles like this.

It’s kind of a fun game to take a random topic and argue how it harms society. You have to add arbitrary rules though or it’s too easy.
