Hey folks! Happy Sunday.

I made Frames by Size after getting frustrated at how difficult it is to find new glasses based on the ones I currently wear.

The idea is simple--just take the frames you are currently wearing and enter the dimensions. You will see frames across multiple vendors that match your dimensions.

If you don't see anything you like, you can sign up for an email notification the moment the system finds a new match.

Anyhow, I would love any feedback you fine folks have.

Thanks!

How do I get all this information?

What is the correct method of precisely measuring the bridge size?

What is the correct method of precisely measuring the interpupillary distance?

Or any of the other things?

Do I need a micrometer? Where, exactly, should I place the ends of the micrometer to correctly measure things?

Great questions!

I will add a section with measuring tips. Thanks for the feedback!

For pupillary distance, you would want to get that measurement from your eye doctor for the best accuracy. It is something you may need to request that they do when getting your prescription. Some vendors provide instructions for measuring that I can use to fill out the new information I will add.

For some of the other measures, typically frames are marketed using the lens width, bridge width, and temple length so you may even be able to find your frames online and get those numbers without too much fuss.

Point definitely taken there needs to be more information for folks who don't have access to these numbers on how to get these numbers.
