Ask HN: At what point did you decide to make your first post on HN?

Long time lurker, first time poster...I was recently inspired by https://www.reddit.com/r/slatestarcodex/comments/9rvroo/most_of_what_you_read_on_the_internet_is_written/ which has been posted on HN a few times...

It really makes me wonder...for those of you that lurked for a while before making a post, at what point did you decide to make the first post? Or even your first comment? What motivated you to "graduate" from lurker to "avid contributor"?
