Ask HN: Swedbank discrimination against migrants

3 points by johndoe42377 ↗ HN
Swedbank (of Sweden) cancelled a MasterCard card because they find my activities "suspicious". I am 4000km away in a much cheaper Asian country. The card is on another family member.

We are family of migrants to Sweden. I think the decision was a discrimination against us. Some clerks got too cocky.

What is the proper way to complain and where to? Is there any overseeing authority? Thanks.

isn’t it? Many of banks support adding extra note that you’re going to travel somewhere so in case of transactions from place of destination they don‘t block.

For better or worse that's pretty standard practice for banks. Usually a single phone call is enough to clear up the matter.
