Ask HN: Sample applications for cross-language comparison

Is there a mid-sized project or set of projects that are comparable across languages? I've been looking at different spell checking libraries, but would prefer something closer to a standard business app warts and all.

Rosetta Code is excellent for comparing language snippets, but the prompts are small and self contained.
