I registered to post this. This is very disappointing and I hope Zoom shows Keybase some love. At this rate it's only a matter time before vulnerabilities for Keybase will be found and exploited.
Oh it's totally dead, completely useless now. There's no hope. Massacred by capitalism.
The current effort that seems to have some popularity is keyoxide[1]. Good folk, doing good work. It's also aggressive-of-the-aggressive-most copyleft, AGPL, which seems like a real sincere barrier to it becoming a bigger thing. But there's probably enough protocols & ideas here that an inter-operable re-implementation would work fine.
