Ask HN: What's Going on with Spotify and JRE?

I've been a Spotify user for quite a while and, in fact, have long considered their UI to be superior to Apple Music.

I usually listen to podcasts with Overcast but occasionally I'll listen to some on Spotify and haven't had any problems.

But with the Joe Rogan Experience... it's bad. I mean, there is no other way to describe it other than that it is a terrible experience. Playing will stop for no reason. Once I get it started again after many clicks it'll just randomly reset back to the beginning.

I would think, given how much it was reported that Spotify paid Joe Rogan, that they would have put every effort into making the transition as smooth as possible but, instead, it's like the experience of listening to that one podcast is far, far worse than any other podcasts on Spotify.

This all leads me to believe there is something at a fundamentally technical level that is giving Spotify's engineers fits over how to make that one podcast work properly. Or am I being over-generous and optimistic?
