I can’t find a definitive answer this morning on the status of this operation. Some articles say it’s floating, others say it’s only mostly floating but the bow is still stuck. All of them are short on details of what happens next, not even providing info on what the next necessary steps might be.
Why aren't there fleets of drones monitoring the boat? Is there a no-fly zone over the canal, or simply no mobile data connection?
Yeah. The BBC is reporting that while there was movement, the front is still stuck "rock-solid at the moment in the slightly sandy clay" [0]. Sounds like there is some difference in opinion.

This linked article is rather light on the details, and the BBC article has some direct quotes that indicate the ship is still mostly stuck. I think Fortune may have jumped the gun.

>“It’s just another incident which shows that no matter which contingency plan you design, tragedies may occur over and over as long as we don’t replace the export of live animals with the export of refrigerated and frozen meat,” Paun said.

Wow, so instead of saying "well, everything points to consuming less meat & having less livestock on the World" Paun blames the animals aren't dead when transporting them.
