Ask HN: Is it worth it for a tech startup founder to write a chapter in a book?

I was approached with a proposal to write a chapter in an Elseveir book. I am a startup founder so time is pretty scarce and this will take up all my free time for the next couple months. It sounds interesting to think about our field from a different, more scientific perspective, but 2 months of life might be a bit too high of a price if there are no other outputs.

Problem is that when I want to read some research about our field I would go for articles not books, which are fairly inaccessible usually.

Any chance someone here can share their experience writing chapters in those kind of books? Is it worth anything at all in any way?
