I was a big fan of Fallout 1 and 2. So when Fallout 3 came out I tried it and considered it so ruined that I didn't even want to call it "Fallout". I played it for an hour and gave up.
It's a bit weird seeing others being nostalgic over it. Probably just tells you that people are mainly attached to things they tried at a certain period of age, doesn't matter what that thing was - Fallout 1 & 2 for me, Fallout 3 for this guy, or Fallouts 4, 5, 6, N for the next generations.
