Share HN: Stack Overflow copy-paste monetization gag

When I went onto Stack Overflow, I copy-and-pasted a snippet of JSX from a thread about in-line styling with z-index.

When I saw the rate-limited copy-paste functionality at the bottom right of the screen, I was already riled up and ready to be upset. I'd completely forgotten what day it was and just how quickly I bought into the fact that the tech industry isn't too far off from pulling something like this—maybe even worse.

Did anyone else fall for it or am I too gullible?
