Framing your personal ban as "harming free software development" seems like a stretch to me. I don't know you nor this issue at all but I am guessing the "Julia Stewards" would argue that your ban helped rather than harmed their initiative.
They also seemed to offer you a path to unblocking yourself. One you are apparently unwilling to walk.
Since they have placed the ball back in your court, it could be argued that you are the one standing in the way and you are the one harming free software development.
