Quoting: 'How often have we been told by various philosophers and universalistic religions about unseen connections between human beings and the collective identity of humanity? Today, global connections are manifest in the economy, in transportation and communication systems'

Now, lets took that and change it into a nightmarish dystopia....

What do you think when you hear 'Pandemic and Population Controll' ? The tracking of cell-phones, every bank and credit tansaction, at the ATM, cemera surveillance, sure also when paying with cash, biometrical, SSN, online-clouds-documents, etc. searchable with metadata.

Is it an update ?

ist it a progess of stabilisation, through liberalism in combination with moralising strategys for the people and against war, with best intentions, made by ten-thousands of intelligent and qualified pupils ?

The people are bad!

How do you feel about it ?

Saying globalization, would you feel better when controlling all the 'contents' is outsourced to china, same with your opportunitie to interact with society and economy ?

Is your perspective basing on others ?

This is a frivolous thinking, is like a pawn with a King mindset. Nobody wants to track you, individually, because nobody knows/cares about you. For the collective, you have a value of 1.
It's not frivolous thinking. I agree with your statement that "you have a value of 1". That's our collective defense mechanism. But as a consequence, we all live with the knowledge that _if we step out of line_, then great powers can be used against us.

Some of those behaviors are generally for the good of society (e.g. 'murder is bad'). But others, like civil forfeiture, are much much more questionable.

Profiling exists since the beginning of society, and there is a long time it is used as leverage in legal (or illegal) disputes.
Isn't it what Pirsig wrote, mainly in "Lila"?
