What stands out to me most in these videos is that the passenger appears to just start at her phone for 20+ minutes...
She's most likely aware the recording will be posted to the internet and hides most of her face :) I would too.
I probably won't be getting any of the electric vehicles out there because they're all a privacy nightmare.
How does buying a car with an internal combustion engine prevent such issues? As far as I know, all cars have a battery and many ICE vehicles have cameras and microphones.
You can simply choose a regular gas or diesel vehicle made before these monitoring and spyware and tracking features, like driver monitoring cameras and OnStar type always-on tracking became available.

With electric, this is difficult, maybe impossible.

No infrared illumination makes this camera completely useless if the manufacturer intends to use it in the future as a Driver Monitoring System component.
