Which College Should I Go To
More broadly, my goal is to maximize the money I will have to invest in my 20s.
Now here are my options:
UW-Madison—I’d be ~150K in debt by the end because my parents don’t have the money to pay for this. It’s no CMU/Berkeley/MIT, but it has a decent CS program and a respectable percentage of students end up at FAANG/HRT etc. Especially in comparison to the following alternatives.
UIowa—This is instate and would cost me less than 40K over 4 years. 0 student loans because parents can afford it. Looking at LinkedIn, there have been people in the past few years that made it to FAANG etc, but it’s a pretty small number. None make it to to prop trading firms though afaik.
Iowa State—Same as above, but it’s 80K over 4 years, and it’s slightly better for opportunities. I know one, and only one, person who interviewed at IMC for here. Still negligible student loans.
Some say even that amount of debt can be paid off with not too much difficult and leave money over for investing, and others don't. So, Where should I go? Why?
