I don't know if this caused COVID-19 but I found out about this type of experimentation through my deep-dive into virus research. The more I read into it, the more I am terrified. I think we need a Nuclear Test Ban Treaty equivalent to Gain-of-function experimentation. The benefits from this research do no justify the potential of new pandemics in the future.
