I would be happier about San Jose’s developments in general if the policy was more than “build dwellings”. There is never a commitment by the council or the developers who get the multi-billion dollar contracts to ...

- build better infrastructure to cope with thenicreased traffic

- add more schools

- add more green/open space

- etc. etc.

All we get is ever-denser apartments, the developer pays fines for not doing any of the above as a cost of doing business, lather, rinse, repeat.

I’ve been to one of the meetings they held for building what was sold as an 8-story apartment block where the rest of the housing around is 2-story.

“Approval has already been granted”,

“So why are we here ?”

“We’re informing you ahead of time as we are obliged to do”.

“Gee. Thanks”
