Ask HN: EC2 Imagemagick in containers blasts the CPU

Has anyone else encountered an issue where a container running imagemagick on ec2 will blow the CPU sky high and hang the whole instance? (to the point where rebooting it becomes quite hard). Finding this a real issue, experienced it in several contexts (custom Go application, WordPress running image optimisation on upload etc.).
