I truly encourage anybody, not just manga fans, to read Death Note. It is very, very good. Very rarely do you find such a well-crafted detective story. And you have to read it. The anime skips over a lot of details that are necessary to fully understand everything.
And I discourage anybody to write Death Notes. Its...um...quite well-crafted.
I watched the double feature movies (2006) and really enjoyed it, so I started on the anime, and I really feel like there are so many pointless filler story lines and episodes.
It's just 37 eps. Considering an anime, it doesn't have fillers, maybe 1 or 2. The anime is well-crafted as well. Every episode serves purpose in the storyline, especially first 25 eps.
Whoa, that list of side channel leaks is massive.
This one is from 2017, and has been posted before. mods, please add [2017] in title
Isn't it evergreen? It's not like it is about then current events or anything...
Great site design.

As a side-note to the Death Note recommendations, there is a stand alone story from a year or two ago in which Trump attempts to buy the Death Note. I think you can read it on Viz.com.

The story also gives a different perspective on how to use the Death Note.

Pretty cool.

If you haven't read Dead Note but have it on a shortlist, don't read the article. It should have "contains spoilers" on the title...
