Unlike this blog post which mentions the hard stop at 5 projects at the top, the "Changes to your Todoist plan" email talks about all the new features you have in the first 2 paragraphs and then 10 bullet points before getting to the new project limit, burying it below the fold.
If you use projects as folders like me for things like Groceries, Pharmacy, etc in addition to a couple work projects, you'll likely want to find a new home for your shared checklists. Google Keep is a decent option.
