I consider myself pretty progressive and am a paid subscriber to both the NYTimes and WaPo, but it's pretty gross and obvious that there are newsworthy items (usually with a conservative bent) that they avoid. I find myself reading the NYPost more and more to try to get a balanced view.
This BLM story is one. There is another one about Carranza (the recently-departed New York schools chancellor) who just took an exec job with an ed-tech company that made $3M off of NYC contracts the past few years. Whether or not it's outright corruption remains to be seen, but it's definitely newsworthy and should be investigated.
Another is the ongoing attacks on Asian women and elderly. The Times didn't really pick this up until the shooting in Atlanta, which allowed them to focus on the white supremacy/Trump narrative. Most of the day-to-day violent assaults have been carried out by other minorities---this fact is rarely mentioned by the Times, but the Post (gleefully?) includes pictures of suspects when available.
Note the bio: House Majority PAC, (D) Barbara Boxer, https://dccc.org/, (D) Jerry McNerney.
When people yell and shout that the left has subverted these tech companies into political entities, it's easy for us to roll our eyes. But when you look at the background of the people calling the shots, I dunno... it's kinda hard to argue with.
