[–] daveoc64 5y ago ↗ The Energy Star program (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_Star) is an example of how energy usage of computers was considered in the 90s.I expect that the controversy with cryptocurrency stems from a perception that it's using a lot of power without providing much benefit to society.
