I actually prefer the "I just kept showing up, and they kept paying me, but I didn't do any actual work" threads, if nothing else for the sheer absurdity of it.

Isn't that common in Italy with the mafia? (i.e. getting your family members on payroll without them having to actually show up?)

It's wonderful the BBC always coming up with these funny workplace examples always from the PIGS countries, and no way to comment them.
