Meanwhile California is collapsing LOL
If the numbers drop in "Neanderthal" Texas, and practically every other supposed "good" state numbers rise - guess what?

The "good" guys are the Neanderthals.

And what would be the mechanism? People with mandated masking get pissed off and start wearing fewer masks than otherwise?

Or maybe something else driving this? Like better weather in the south? (TX, FL)

I personally think lockdown measures and mandates increase spread - the more people are discouraged from participating in public life, the worse. People are better off outside out of their homes and living their lives.

This would also jibe with nursing homes and hospitals being perhaps the worst places to be.

If the idea that normal functioning of society involves less long-term clustering in buildings & therefore less disease spread, the surprising conclusion would be that the most important thing to do would be for a country to continue acting normal, and avoid devolving into panic and implement strict measures.

Aside from that - I think it's telling that Fauci really never answered this question during the hearing. He claimed he couldn't hear or see the stuff that was being asked.

The only thing he responded was that he thinks the difference could be explained by the idea that mandates and behavior are different.

But it's quite a stretch that simultaneously all the strict-measure states are disobeying the measures while all the lax-measure states are behaving as though there were strict measures.

I'm "4%" Neanderthal according to 23andme. Getting my 2nd Moderna in ATX today.
