Hmm, sorry but I'm not convinced that writing a blog post about it counts as "doing better" either.
He's not writing a blog post to "do better." He's just conveying his thoughts about doing better vs. feeling better.

Nothing wrong with that.

It feels a bit empty and disingenuous, like writing a blog post about how one should not do X right after doing X.

There's nothing intrinsically wrong with writing blog posts about things you're not doing, but there is something judgemental about this ("you should do X not Y") post and that makes it somewhat hypocritical ("even though I just did Y").
