An active CEO can walk into any part of the company and instantaneously make a change. Some companies don’t need that function. Some companies needed it to achieve this autopiloted stability.
I think a Autopilot CEO is fine (I guess). My main point is if you are a autopilot CEO then your pay should reflect that. As a Autopilot CEO you shouldn't be earning X10 (or X100) million dollars.
