I love reading old predictions!

"The economic model that supported most of the ancient masters was patronage, whether endowed by a wealthy individual, a religious institution, a university, a corporation, or - through the instrument of governmental support - by society as a whole....Think of how the emerging digital conveniences will empower musicians, photographers, filmmakers, and writers when you can click on an icon, upload a cyber-dime into their accounts, and download their latest songs, images, films, or chapters - all without the barbaric inconvenience currently imposed by the entertainment industry."

I guess we didn't quite get to that, but all things considered, we're not too far off? At least when compared to 20 years ago.

Oh, and this was, (I think?) a follow up from his "The Economy of Ideas" from back in '94.

Sounds like they're overdue for the next installment of predictions!
