Great points. The immediate cure I have to offer is Redneck Culture: "the glorious lack of sophistication" as Jeff Foxworthy put it, but truly more an ethic of pleasing oneself without regard for the approval of others; and returning the courtesy.
I think we're gonna see some Neo Punk ethic sold to this upcoming demographic bump, I think a bunch will bite but there will be a large "fuck your branded stuff" counter reaction too which would naturally fit into a "closer to the land" feeling.
