I read the entire thread, but (admittedly as an outsider), I did not understand what exactly was wrong in Rust governance. Is there more context required to understand what is going on?

Account hid all its tweets, so this has become a non-starter in terms of an interesting HN post.

I remember the guy noticed that he was the worst paid employee in his team at Mozilla. Plus there was rumors on reddit about fighting related to inclusiveness, e.g. should beginner programmers be allowed to submit pull requests.

Not sure if it's related, but I could imagine that he's just tired of decision by concensus and wants to do his own smaller pet project again.
