Ask HN: As a developer, what type of courses do you prefer: text or video?

Both? Video does well for concepts, text for reference and details.

No question: text is the absolute winner. Reading is just faster, plus with videos you can't search, can't cut-and-paste, and can't skim. Video is for my son to learn about Minecraft blocks.

This may be just me, but I find the best way to learn something new in programming is to type it in myself. It's really hard to type in code from a video.
