Ask HN: Is YouTube forced autoplay now?

Youtube mobile web page (my main interface to yt) now has no autoplay button. It mostly just auto plays all the time.

Is this gone for everyone? or am i part of a un-regulated pyscological experiment into gaslighting.. aka a/b testing.

Edit: seems to be gone from desktop too. I had a look in account settings for a global option.

Edit: this is me missing it moving and my settings getting wiped.

I see it. It's next to to the settings cog icon on the bottom right of the frame. It was hard for me to see at first, just a tiny toggle button now. I use the web app on desktop pc.

Thank you. I just couldnt see it. For some reason i was having a mental block on that new icon appearing.

Google moved it to a slider button in the lower right corner of the video, next to the volume and settings gear.

Oh wow, thanks ive been looking for it for a couple of days.. I had a suspicion I was wrong. Of couse as the button was moved,so my setting of not autoplaying was wiped everywhere making it a bit more confusing.

Been noticing a few suspicious changes recently. making adverts huge and in the place where you hold your phone in portrait. And many ads the skip button doesnt work (not no skip ones).

But then i never know if its me or not as apparently my sanity is unimportant.

Google has moved the autoplay toggle on the company's video site YouTube. If you open the web version of YoutTube , you find it attached to the media player now.
